1. Data Collection & Processing

OpenSSL Web UI provides cryptographic processing tools. Cryptographic inputs processed via standard tool tabs are executed transiently in server memory to produce your requested cryptographic output and command logs. We do not store or sell your sensitive private keys or plaintext data entered into the standard utility tabs.

2. Temporary Secret Sharing Data Storage

If you explicitly use the "Share Secret" feature, uploaded files or text secrets are stored securely in encrypted or plaintext format on disk. Secrets automatically expire within 24 hours (or your selected lifetime) and self-destruct after 5 invalid passphrase attempts or upon first successful reading if "Burn-after-reading" is enabled.

3. Log Files & Analytics

Like most web applications, our web server logs standard web server activity (e.g. IP address, browser type, referring page, operating system, timestamp). These logs are used solely for server maintenance, security monitoring, and diagnostic troubleshooting.

4. Cookies & Web Storage

We use browser local storage or session cookies to maintain UI state preferences (such as selected active tab or dark mode settings). You can manage or disable cookies through your web browser settings.

5. Third-Party Advertising & AdSense Disclosure

We may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings or www.aboutads.info.
